Statement of Faith

The Scriptures
We believe the Holy Bible, as written, was verbally inspired of God and that the King James Bible is the only version to be used in teaching or preaching in English.
God
We believe that there is one, and only one living and true God, whose name is JEHOVAH, and that in the unity of the Godhead there are three persons, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
Jesus Christ
We believe in the eternality and absolute deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, begotten of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, that He is true God and true Man, that He lived a sinless life, died a substitutionary death on the cross for our sins, that He was bodily resurrected from the grave, that He ascended into Heaven where He is now making intercession for believers.
The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is a person of the Godhead not merely a force, that His ministry is to convict men of their need of salvation, indwell believers at salvation, and to produce a right walk in the saved.
Man
We accept the Genesis account of creation, that man was created in holiness, fell voluntarily by transgression, and by consequence all mankind are now sinners not only by constraint but by choice, and positively inclined to evil.
Salvation
We believe that the salvation of sinners is wholly by grace through faith in the voluntary death of Jesus Christ on the cross, and in His resurrection from the dead.
Justification
We believe that the great Gospel blessing which Jesus Christ secures for those who believe in Him is justification, and that this justification rests solely upon faith in Jesus Christ's shed blood.
Regeneration
We believe that in order to be saved, sinners must be regenerated or born again; and that this is effected in us by the Holy Spirit in a manner beyond our comprehension and is an instantaneous act not a process.
Repentance and Faith
We believe that repentance and faith are sacred duties and inseparable graces wrought in our souls by the regeneration of the Spirit of God.
Sanctification
We believe that the believer in Jesus Christ enjoys positional sanctification in that he has been set apart by God for redemption, and that the believer enjoys continually being set apart to God by the ministry of the Holy Spirit through the Scriptures.
Spiritual Gifts
We believe that God has given every believer some spiritual gift or gifts for the purpose of edifying the body of Christ, and that some of the gifts particularly tongues, prophecy, and healing were temporary and are definitely not for our age. We believe that God alone works miracles today.
Stewardship
We believe that God, the Creator, is owner of all things and has been pleased to entrust believers with possessions by which the believer is to glorify God, contributing systematically, proportionately, and cheerfully to the local church and its enterprises.
Security
We believe in the security of the saints, and that believers have the privilege to rejoice in the assurance of their salvation.
Separation
We believe in the absolute separation of church and state; and that all who name the name of Jesus Christ as their Savior should live in such a manner as not to bring reproach upon His name. We believe in separation from all religious apostasy, worldly and sinful practices, and entangling associations.
The Church
We believe that the purpose of God for this age is to call out for His Son a bride, Scripturally known as the Church; that this body is composed only of those born again, and that God's ordained institution for the propagation of Christian Truth is the local church, composed of immersed believers united in covenant. We believe the Scriptural officers of a local church are pastors and deacons.
Ordinances
We believe that the ordinances of the local church are two; Christian Baptism and the Lord's Supper. We believe these may only be administered by the church. We believe that Baptism is complete immersion of the believer in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, that it pictures the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. We believe salvation and baptism are prerequisites to local church membership and to partaking of the Lord's Supper which pictures Jesus Christ's death and serves as a memorial until He comes.
The Lord's Day
We believe the first day of the week - Sunday - is the Lord's Day and is to be kept sacred to religious purposes by refraining when possible, from secular labor, and sinful recreation.
Missions
We believe that it is the duty of the local church to preach the gospel to the entire world and the sending of missionaries through faith promise giving.
Civil Government
We believe that civil government is of divine appointment, and that magistrates are to be prayed for, honored and obeyed, except in things opposed to the will of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Satan
We believe in the reality of a created being - Satan - that fell through pride, that he works in complete opposition to God, and that judgment already passed upon him will be executed when he is ultimately cast into the lake of fire.
Eternal Destinies
We believe in the eternal destiny of the saved in everlasting joy with our Lord Jesus Christ, and the eternal destiny of the lost in everlasting conscious suffering and torment.
Second Coming
We believe in the personal, bodily, imminent, premillennial return of our Lord Jesus Christ in two stages: the Rapture for His saints before the tribulation and the Revelation where Jesus Christ will come with His saints to the earth to judge and set up His Kingdom.
